R&S FSW analyser adds real-time signal analysis option

Rohde & Schwarz has recently rolled out a new measurement option for its FSW high-end signal and spectrum analyser. The new option enables real-time signal analysis for frequencies of up to 50GHz with an analysis bandwidth of 160MHz. Outfitted with the FSW K160R real-time signal-analysis option, the FSW can detect interfering signals to the exact level and without gaps. It also eliminates the need for an additional measuring instrument.

Used in the aerospace, defence, automobile, and telecommunications industries, real-time analysis allows brief events to be identified with 100 per cent reliability. It makes it possible to monitor the hopping sequences of frequency-agile systems and test colliding signals, such as WLAN and Bluetooth that are using the same frequency range. In addition, engineers can test transient response and frequency hops of oscillators and frequency synthesisers, since even brief signal errors can result in massive interference in many communications applications.
