PCIe board employs active/passive balun front end

Ultraview has recently unveiled its AD12-2000x2 data acquisition board. The board delivers uninterrupted acquisition of two concurrent 12bit A/D channels at 2Gsamples/s or a single channel at up to 4Gsamples/s. It employs an active/passive balun front end that reduces noise in bandpass applications, while allowing operation down to DC.

The PCIe board combines its low-noise, low-distortion DC to 2GHz front end with fast 40ns trigger latency, 8Gb-deep RAM, and the ability to be driven from either a fixed internal or external clock, which can be rapidly swept over large portions of a 300MHz to 2000MHz range.

These features enable the AD12-2000x2 to be used in a wide range of defence, scientific, and medical applications, including communications spectroscopy, signal intelligence, surveillance, missile testing, and radar. Other specifications include a signal-to-noise ratio of 61dB, spurious-free dynamic range of 75dBc (typical), and an analogue input range of ±375 mV (750mV pk-pk). The board's DMA transfer rate is approximately 1.5Gbit/s, depending on the host system.
