Analog Devices delivers dual analogue-to-digital converters

Analog Devices Inc. unveiled its two 16bit, 1Ms/s analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) with pseudo differential and differential input options.

The AD7902 dual pseudo differential and AD7903 dual differential PulSAR ADCs enable simultaneous or independent signal chain implementation to provide two sampling solutions in one package. Each ADC consumes 12mW at 1Ms/s, which is 70 per cent less power than the closest competitor. Power consumption is scaled depending on throughput speed to address thermal dissipation challenges in dense data acquisition system designs.

The ADCs feature up to ±0.5LSB and 94dB SNR for exceptional accuracy and precision making them ideally suited to a wide range of high performance multi-channel applications including I/Q demodulation, motor and power control, automated test equipment, data acquisition, and medical instrumentation.

Both A/D converters incorporate a versatile serial interface port and are implemented as physically-isolated devices allowing for a robust signal chain design with functional safety considerations in mind. The physical isolation also allows verification and backup measurements enabling useful end-system fault detection.

The ADCs can be designed into circuits for data acquisition applications with ADI's ADA4841-1, ADA4941-1 or ADA4940 low-noise, low-distortion, rail-to-rail output amplifiers, the ADP7104 low-noise LDO, and ADR4525 voltage reference series.
