Mouser debuts power supply technology website

The new power supply technology website segment of Mouser Electronics contains technical information about the company's power supply solutions that best answer the unique design requirements of engineers.

The website addresses design-from-scratch or ready-made power supply solutions and focuses on Switched-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS), and covers the four most-often-used topologies. Switching regulators are frequently preferred to linear regulators due to their higher efficiency, smaller size, and lighter weight.

Also, standard source voltages may not match the levels required by microprocessors, motors, LEDs, or other loads, especially when the source voltage is not regulated. The site helps design engineers navigate the benefits of SMPS.

Engineers can explore UPS and AC/DC power applications through block diagram navigation. The site provides extra resources to help stimulate design development such as in-depth industry articles, white papers and a comprehensive library of technical resources that can be reviewed by topic or supplier.

A Featured Products guide and user-friendly graphical interface is designed to speed navigation so engineers can quickly navigate to find products and information based on defined parameters and design requirements.

The website also highlights the newest power supply solutions from Texas Instruments, TDK-Lambda, GE Energy, Microchip Technology, Murata Power Solutions and STMicroelectronics, among others.

Its general purpose is to educate, help narrow the list of products, and find the right products for their design projects. The overriding objective is to transform knowledge into design knowhow.

The website is updated daily and searches more than 10 million products to locate over 3 million orderable part numbers available for easy online purchase. It also houses an industry-first interactive catalogue, data sheets, supplier-specific reference designs, application notes, technical design information, and engineering tools.
