Nanotherm's MBPCB cools LEDs by 20°C

Nano-ceramic technology provider Cambridge Nanotherm has recently unveiled their Nanotherm metal-backed PCB (MBPCB). The MBPCB is made of thermal management material with a dielectric thermal conductivity of 7 W/mK that is able to significantly reduce LED die temperatures – even with Luminaire designs.

Based on a unique process for converting Aluminium into Alumina, a range of standard PCB fabrication techniques can be used to apply circuitry onto the nano-ceramic dielectric layer. Testing indicates a 20$ reduction in substrate thermal resistance over some of the best available metal-backed PCBs. Contact company for pricing and delivery.
