LVPECL oscillator offers noise floor down to -162dBc/Hz

Crystek Corp. has rolled out an ultra-low phase noise LVPECL oscillator that offers a -162dBc/Hz noise floor. According to the company, the compact CCPD-575 boasts an industry leading phase noise for an LVPECL oscillator, at least 15dB lower phase noise than most LVPECL oscillators on the market.


Close-in phase noise is also remarkable at -90dBc/Hz for the 100MHz variant, added Crystek. This overall ultra-low phase noise translates to a typical phase jitter of 85fS RMS (12kHz to 20MHz).

The device is aimed at digital video, SONET/SDH/DWDM, storage area networks, broadband access, Ethernet and gigabit Ethernet.

The Crystek CCPD-575 LVPECL oscillator is made in the U.S. and available from Crystek's stocking distributors.
